We're alive, I promise!

I'm mad.

For those following the growth of Mr. A-Patch-y Earlobe, I can now show you photographic evidence that he is bigger than me:

Don't ask me to smile for the picture...you know I'm upset!

At 7 months old he now weighs in at 27 pounds, and growing. Which means that right at this second, we are also weigh the same. So, all of the snide comments (I'm looking at you Grandma!) that I, Sparky the Puggle, am "so heavy" can stop ASAP! I am now the small one, OK? You may have to give me double the treats so I can catch up to my supposed little brother.

Making up for the Writer's Strike

Let me set the scene for you...

*Fade In*

It's dinner time. Mama's busy in the kitchen making her yum-yums. Patches and I are sitting under the table, keeping out of her traffic path and patiently waiting for something tasty to drop onto the floor.

Mama calls us over "Patchy, Sparky - come here! You want some avocado?"

She uses a spoon to taste the avocado herself before letting us have a bite.

She scoops out a spoonful for Patches, then me. Repeat until one bite is left.

Without thinking, mama then eats the last bite off of the same spoon that Patches and I totally goobered all over! Mama stops. Thinks. Makes a terrible face and spits out the last bit of avocado into the sink.

*End Scene*

(Mama's note: A dog's tongue is not only his wash cloth but also his toilet paper. Blech!)

Winter Walk

I love nicer weather, because it always means "Walkie!"

Yesterday, after some serious harness adjusting (for Patches), we hit the pavement and began our very first 3-mile walk of 2008! At first, my mama tried to keep us out of all the puddles...but gave up after realizing that her efforts were futile. We knew that playing in puddles would lead to bathtime, but it was worth the trade off. Patches especially attacked them with much gusto - slamming 2 paws into each puddle for the biggest splash possible, getting me and mama every time!

Here we are checking out a cat in someone's yard.

We passed a store front, and Patches went absolutely nutty - - he thought there was another handsome Beaglier behind the glass door. Ruff, ruff! I had to tell him that it was our own reflection. Silly puppy!

Check out how incredibly dirty we are! Our bath water was black. I don't look as dirty as Patchy - but it's only because I have black fur...mama said we were both yucky to the max. But, we sure had fun.
