A constant state of destruction

Here is an example of yet another toy that it not puggle proof.

Other items on this growing list that died way too soon:
  • Loofa dogs, or all stuffies really.
  • Rope 'bones' (I can untie the knots)
  • Squeakers
  • Kongs (I keep them for a short time, but then just have to chew them apart!)
  • This thing was pretty much a joke.
  • And, this freezer chew stick was demolished, but not before I untied all of the little knots and ate the strings.
  • The fleece ball is only really held together by one tiny string, so once that was untied - fleece pieces were everywhere!
  • My mama thought this toy would last, since it says "hardcore" right on it...but they were wrong. My super scissor teeth broke through the stitching in about 3 minutes.
  • I had fun with the nylabone key chain, but soon found out that nylabone is NOT DIGESTIBLE.
  • Mama's couch.
Sigh.

My pop jokes that he is going to make me something out of real car tires, or Kevlar.

It's dog park time!

Dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park, dog park

My subliminal messages totally paid off, because yesterday we got all harness up thinking that we would be taking another walk - and instead we went to the dog park! It was so exciting! There has been some speculation about Patches being naughty (like constantly barking, or running away) but he was such a gentleman to all the other boy and girl pups and their humans, and he listened so well to our Mama when she called for him. I was very proud of him.

Patches found his twin to hang out with too! Well, they are not really twins, or even the same breed - but they acted the same (CRAZY!) and had the same colors in their coat. Their playing made everyone laugh.

Wait...I'll zoom in for you...

I grew a little concerned when this little girl came in...I thought she was one of Nanook and Pooka's baby sheepies! I was only half wrong, she is a baby - and I was told that she definitely is not a sheepie, but a dog...a poodle mix of some sort. She was a snippy little creature.

We stayed at the dog park until it started to get dark. Apparently, when the night falls and we are outside, we turn turn into aliens! Just like our new so-called alien friend, Walter, who is being remade into the glorious dog he should be by the Brat Pack.

Don't be scared everypup!!! We're still the same loveable puppies underneath our glow-in-the-dark eyeballs.

Trapped

Don't ya hate it when a pole jumps out of nowhere and snags your leash and won't let go?

I tried to plead with it, but I didn't have any treats to give to him, so he kept me trapped.

Mama. I'll just wait here until you can put the camera down and rescue me.

Sparky and Patches go to college

Oh Spring! We love you so, even though you seem so scared to come out and play this year. The rain finally stopped on Saturday, so my mama harnessed us both up and we hit the sidewalk! Usually we walk around the neighborhoods in our city, but this time we were treated to a little reverse Sring Break and checked out the campus grounds of Union College, which is so close to our house, it's criminal. What a beautiful wonderland of concrete trails and mazes! Since we were reverse Spring Breaking, there was no one around, so Patches wasn't as crazy of a puppy as he usually is.

BTW, Patches got a new harness because he totally outgrew his old one! The kid is getting so big and strong...and his nose is definitely ALL BEAGLE - which is good, because most of the time we are tethered together on these walks, and he always seems to be able to scope out all of the pawesome cat turds and throw up hidden in the grass. The one thing he can not seem to do is keep his darn eyes open! (Please excuse my lipstick.)

Hey Patches!? What are you looking at?

That building behind Patches is the Nott Memorial.

The distinctive campus centerpiece, the 16-sided Nott Memorial (1875), is a National Historic Landmark and a center for lectures, conferences, exhibits and study. It is named after Eliphalet Nott, who was president of the College from 1804 to 1866, the longest tenure of any American college president.

Patches and I are both true re-blooded Americans, so when we are near an American Flag, we salute. Well, I do - Patches looks like he's about to take off with those ridiculous helicopter ears he has there.

We had such a great time checking out all of the nooks and crannies on the campus...hopefully my mama can break into (you didn't hear that from me!) one of their tennis courts so we can run free in a secured area. I'm just waiting to see Patches in action without a leash, because I have a feeling that guy is FAST!

Dogs Blog?

Well...duh! It took a while for CNN to figure it out!

"Even your dog has a blog"

We get teased all the time by human friends for blogging on the world wide web, and we could care less. We've met some wonderful friends (our blogroll is growing by leaps and bounds!) and it's fun to document our time growing up with funny stories and cute pictures. And, let's remember - we don't roll our eyes when we see you doing some *questionable* practices that bring you enjoyment.

Glad we're on the same page! Ruff, ruff!

The Green Frog

There are certain toys that we hold very dear to our hearts...Green Frog is one great example. It's small but durable - with a squeeker in the tummy, and legs that are stuffed with krinkle paper. Even though I love playing with Green Frog, Patches is particularly over-protective of him, and always gets into my space to steal him away.

I've got Green Frog, na, na, na, na, naaaaa, na! And, yum...he tastes like chicken! Give me 2 minutes alone and I will have this thing completely disected.

Sparky! Be gentle!!! I'm sick of you destroying every single stuffie and chewie we own...now, give me that.

Wait, I had that first Patchy!

It's a good thing I haven't had my manicure yet, which enabled me to get a good grasp on Green Frog with my paws.

Alas, my hold wasn't as strong as it once was, and Patches got Green Frog away from my manly grasp. Then in a show of brute strength (and a little humiliation), Patches bit me on my nose!

All's fair in love and war when you have a little brother to watch over. I let him get off easy this time - but I'm totally watching my back...some Beagliers can not be trusted.

2 for 1

This thrills my mama more than anything...

A 2 for 1 deal.

Must...Kill...Socks

Everyone knows that I have a long lasting love for laundry. It's warm and soothing and fun to take a nap in. Sometimes though, the urge to destroy comes into play - and there is nothing better than sinking your teeth into fabric!

Sparky and I did an excellent job of re-creating this black sock into something totally 80's trendy and wearable. Plus, it will keep our mama's hands from getting too cold (because she likes to put her cold hands on my warm belly!). Maybe we should be on Project Runway, because we are obviously showing the world we have mad skilz - just like our man and PR 4 winner, Christian!

Then, the sock attacked me and took away my eyesight!

That little game was not pretty, and without my laser vision I was one mighty clumsy Beaglier - walking into things and falling down. Sparky didn't get attacked because his head is too fat! That's what I get for having a pointy face.

Don't worry though, I sought my revenge and completely KILLED the sock. Yep. I totally sent it up to sock heaven. Now, I just have to find it's evil twin and kill that one too.

Beggars

We're beggars. We can't help it. We know it is wrong and everything, but some snacks are too hard to stay away from...especially snacks you can smell from across the room.

It may look rude, but we are actually pretty polite.

Patches likes to position himself at eye level, in case our pop should miss his mouth suddenly! (This has never happened, as our pop has been feeding himself for about 210 dog years.) I like to stay back a little so I can pick up the crumbs that may fall...and fall they do. And of course, good begging takes a lot of concentration.

Chips are so tasty! We especially like the blue cheese variety because they smell like feet!!!!

My own nest

Every weekend, my mama builds me a nice warm nest on the big bed for me to relax in.

Sparky doesn't get to experience these nests because he likes to eat socks and undies. Plus, he doesn't understand the art and concept of relaxing.
