The Game

When Patches was a just a little teeney baby, he used to gather up all of our toys and sit on them so that I couldn't play with what I wanted. It used to make me upset, but I've figured out that it's a pretty genius idea and started using this little game in my own life, for my own advantage. If Patches complains, I can simply remind him that he's the one who taught me this trick.

This is a never-before seen baby picture that my mama just found in her camera!

Every now and then we get to enjoy a nice hard tooth scraping bone. I love bones so much, and my mama likes them too because they redirect my attention to something that I am allowed and encouraged to destroy.

This is me, hoarding both mine and Patches bones:

Patches fianlly figured out that I took claim to his bone and came over to investigate. He stood on the top of his kennel and stared at me for about 10 minutes before I looked up and gave him the stink eye.

Patches knew he was defeated, so he thought he would try to barter with me and brought over a chewed up Bar-B-Chew as a trade. Not so fast little one! I only take fair and even trades, my friend, and that corn cob is missing all of it's corn! If it was a new chewie right out of the package then maybe I would consider it. (Maybe, but probably not...seeing how I could just steal that also and lay on top of it as well.)

In response, I gingerly placed my free hand on my new bone, for added drama.

You're being mean Sparky! Mitch does that to me too! He takes a bone that I was chewing and BTW, he already has one - and he'll steal mine and end up with 2 of them! He's so stingy! So does this mean that you're being stingy?! You gotta share!

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Poor Sparky. You would never get away with that in our house. The human won't let us even beat up on each other!

Hahaha, fun game! Did Patches managed to take back his bone when you fell a sleep?

Love licks,

Ugh! Shermie does that to us all the time. He takes all of the bones and balls & toys and keeps them all to himself.

That's just one of the reasons we sometimes call him Mr. Jerk-face.

Woah, woah!!! There's a lot of Sparky hate happening here! Don't hate the play'a, hate the game.

I actually did end up sharing with Patches. He seemed pretty grateful and I kept my role as top dog in this household, well behind Mama and Pop at least.

You guys are just too cute! And you know great tricks. If I tried to sit on my toys, I'd only cover about 2 of them. Oh well, I'll get bigger one of these days. I could stand on my crate, though, if it was out in the open. Motch hides it under a desk.

Have I told you guys how cute I think you are? lol I do something very similar. I hide my favorite toys, chewies and bones around the house so nobosy can find them. Mom is always pulling chewies an dballs out of the couch cusions and bones out from unter the fish tank and entertainment center. Then I have to go rehide them all over again. My favorite hoarding technique is to get both bones and a chewie and using the bones as leverage to shew on the chewie with our favorite squichey ball in my armpit. Great job Sparky! You are definately top dog in your house.

Sparky, I guess good minds think alike! My mama says I'm not a pup that likes to share her toys...its true! After all, Patches initiated the game, you just beat him at his own game. You were a good pup at the end and shared...good job!

We totally play those games, too. My ma ape calls it "intrigue." But my sissy is so dumb she tries to hide her balls IN MY BED. Duh. Glad you and Patches are much smarter than that!
